Jennifer Aniston’s Daily Routine
The former Friends star is well-known for her youthful glow, and it’s no wonder. Waking up at 4.30 am on a workday, Jennifer’s morning routine consists of drinking hot water with lemon, washing her face with soap and water, and meditating for 20 minutes. Next, breakfast: “Usually I’ll have a shake, with some sort of pure protein, then bananas, blueberries, frozen cherries, stevia, a vegetable mix of dynamic greens that goes in there, maca powder and a little cacao.” Post-breakfast, it’s time for a workout – half an hour of spinning followed by 40 minutes of yoga with a trainer, then she goes to the gym. Honestly, she works out after she works out.
An early sweat sesh can make way for tons of health benefits, including better sleep and improved blood pressure. Aniston gets moving with a spin class followed by yoga and then a trip to the gym for strength training or more cardio, she says. The actress’s primary motivator for this routine is variety, “Keeping your body confused is always the key for me,” she says.
It should come as no surprise that Hollywood’s sweetheart knows how to eat healthy after all of these years in the spotlight. Insider reports that Jennifer Aniston opts for celery juice upon waking up and a smoothie with clean protein, greens, blueberries, and collagen. She even told Well+Good that she’d noticed a difference in her skin from adding this supplement. “My nails are stronger, and there’s a healthier… how do you explain it? A glow. It’s that working from the inside-out thing,” she said.
Furthermore, Aniston credits daily hour breaks from technology for her calm resolve and inner peace. She told the Los Angeles Times that stepping away from her phone makes a huge difference in how she feels. “You don’t need it — unless it’s your job. But if you don’t have anything that’s pressing, an hour is not going to hurt to not look at it,” she told the newspaper.
Plus, the actress meditates once again before bed to get her beauty sleep. Helping her unwind and relax, this routine gives her the energy to meet her busy mornings with a fresh face. Of course, regular facials also help with her skin’s youthfulness, but her healthy, steady mornings also help with that.
She Meditates and Journals
First up, she gets zen. ‘Meditation, that’s a no-brainer,’ she says. ‘I also journal, and if I don’t get to do that, it’s a bummer.’ A far cry from our habit of eyes opening, fumbling for the alarm clock, rushing to make a coffee, take a shower and eat breakfast simultaneously.
She Amps up her Coffee
As Chief Creative Officer for collagen brand Vital Proteins, Jen adds some of the good stuff to her morning brew, one of the stalwarts of her rise and shine routine. ‘That’s sort of the ritual: Coffee, mediation, meditation, coffee, depending on the order,’ she says.
She walks her dogs
One of her morning tasks of three dogs (Clyde, Sophie, and Lord Chesterfield) is walking and feeding them each day.
She spends the first-hour screen-free
Something we majorly aspire to – leaving our phone be for the first hour or two of the day. Easier said than done, hey. But it’s a habit JA swears by. ‘No phones, no email, no texting, and no social media. No looking at any of that for a good hour, hour and a half,’ the actor and producer said. ‘I highly recommend doing a week of it. You won’t believe the difference.’
